Intensity is a word that will be heard over and over again in practice this week for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. It's what has been lacking at times during a recent 1-2-2 stretch that has coach Steve Trittschuh juggling his lineup and fans of the second-year United Soccer League franchise scratching their heads. How can a veteran-laden team with this much talent be underperforming on the scoreboard? The last time Colorado Springs scored more than one goal was June 4 in a 2-0 win over St. Louis.
